Genre coventions

Genre

The term genre convention is an element that is repeated in a product over the same genre. These conventions are things such as master heads/images/name/date or issue number/colour themes and barcodes. These are the sort of things which people usually expect when looking at magazine cover.

Because my magazine fits into the same genre it will have similar conventions. Again like master heads/images and dates etc. These are all used to give the magazine a professional and uncluttered look to make it look professional and well made.

All of these factors will influence me and magazine as it will give me a basic understanding of how a magazine should look for the particular magazine I’m making. I will use it and interpret it in my own way giving it a unique sense of style.
